Where Faith Meets Science: My Journey of Curiosity, Leadership, and Purpose

One App,
Many Uses

Innovative journeys often begin with simple sparks of curiosity. For me, that spark came in childhood, where creativity was my constant companion. I loved painting, crafting, and noticing beauty in the small details of life. At the time, I didn’t realize that this creativity would one day merge with knowledge to shape a purposeful life.

The real turning point came in Grade 7, when I first read about the Big Bang Theory. I still remember how those words struck me, it felt as if my mind had suddenly expanded to embrace an entire universe of possibilities. I began to wonder deeply about creation, science, and the mysteries of existence. That moment planted a seed of curiosity that soon grew into a passion for Physics.

By Grade 8, I decided to change course. I became more focused and disciplined in academics, and my matriculation years gave me confidence in my abilities. During my FSc (Pre-Engineering), I worked tirelessly, driven by a vision to pursue Physics as a career. Every exam and every late-night study session felt like one more step closer to my dreams.

When it was time to choose a university, my mother encouraged me to consider engineering. But deep within, my heart called me elsewhere. I wanted not only to study Physics but to dedicate my life to exploring its mysteries. Following that passion, I enrolled in the BS Physics program at the International Islamic University Islamabad.

Studying here has been more than an academic journey, it has been a spiritual one. As I learn about the vastness of the cosmos and the beauty of quantum mechanics, I see reflections of Allah’s words in the Qur’an. For me, science is not separate from faith; it is a way to understand Allah’s creation more deeply. This harmony has been my guiding light, grounded in the Qur’anic truth: “And that there is not for man except that for which he strives” (Surah An-Najm 53:39).

Alongside academics, leadership became another defining part of my life. I founded the Scholar Bridge Society (SBS) and served as its first President at the Female Campus. The society was born out of my desire to empower students through education, mentorship, and dialogue. Leading SBS taught me that leadership is not about titles but about service. John Maxwell’s words, “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way,” became my compass as I worked to inspire others.

Beyond the university walls, I found fulfillment in volunteering. My time at the Young Muslim Inclusive Education School System, especially working with special children, was transformative. It taught me empathy, patience, and the understanding that every human being is blessed with unique gifts from Allah. Serving these children reminded me that leadership must also be rooted in compassion.

Gradually, my journey expanded beyond national borders. Being selected as a UPG Sustainability Leader 2025 connected me with changemakers worldwide, broadening my understanding of global challenges. I engaged with organizations such as the YES You Can Global Foundation (focused on women’s empowerment), Women in Climate Action, Young Hearts United, and the Space Academy Society. Professionally, I became an Associate Member of the Pakistan Nuclear Society, linking my academic passion with a scientific community. Each of these experiences taught me that real impact requires collective action.

Through these experiences, I developed a personal philosophy: while dreams are within our control, outcomes rest with Allah. I encourage every student I meet to dream boldly, recalling the Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) words: “The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believer, while there is good in both.” Strength here is not just physical, it is intellectual, spiritual, and emotional.

My dream is to merge my passion for Physics with my sense of social responsibility. I aspire to contribute to future research, explore the mysteries of the universe, and prove that faith and science are not opposing forces but complementary paths to truth.

Looking back, from the little girl who loved crafts to a Physics student, a leader, and a global changemaker, I see Allah’s mercy guiding me at every step. My story is still unfolding, but I carry with me the conviction that the future is bright, InshaAllah. As the Qur’an reminds us: “Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves” (Surah Ar-Ra’d 13:11).

And so, I continue striving, with faith in Allah, passion for science, and a vision to inspire others. My journey is not just mine, it is a reminder that with curiosity, dedication, and trust in Allah, every young soul can transform dreams into reality.
